The American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline EMS program recognized 51 hospital-affiliated emergency medical services for excellence in prehospital heart care.
The Lifeline recognition focuses on quality of care and outcomes for prehospital stroke, heart attack and cardiac arrest patients. These programs use evidence-based guidelines, measure performance, identify gaps and engage in quality improvement, according to the association’s website. The Mission: Lifeline bestows three awards: Gold, Silver and Bronze. Organizations with Gold recognition must have aggregate annual compliance of more than 75% on AHAEMS Measures 1.1 to 7.1, and achieve Silver or Gold award level in 2023.
