Among all U.S. hospitals, only 29 had better heart failure mortality rates and lower payments for heart failure care compared to national averages between July 1, 2020, and June 30, 2023, according to CMS data released Feb. 19.
CMS reports individual hospital results for heart attack payment and mortality together to help patients assess the facility’s overall value of care.
The national average payment for heart failure patients between July 1, 2020, and June 30, 2023, was $19,602.
