21 cities with the highest, lowest percentage of adults with high blood pressure, cholesterol

Two cities in Louisiana ranked as the top for percent of adults with high blood pressure and high cholesterol, while San Jose, Calif. and El Paso, Texas are the lowest, respectively, according to WalletHub data.

WalletHub’s “Most Overweight and Obese Cities in the U.S. (2026)” report compared 100 of the most populated U.S. metro areas across obesity and overweight, health consequences and food and fitness dimensions and 19 metrics. Each metric was graded on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 representing the “fattest”. As part of health consequences, WalletHub analyzed the percentage of adults with high cholesterol and high blood pressure.
