The only heart hospital with a triple threat for patient satisfaction

Oklahoma City-based Oklahoma Heart Hospital is the only dedicated heart hospital in the U.S. that had five-star CMS ratings for nurse communication, physician communication, cleanliness and quietness.

Researchers at West Orange, N.J.-based RWJBarnabas Health found these metrics are drivers of patient satisfaction during a hospital stay. Patients who felt listened to and kept informed by their team, and who had a clean, restful room were more likely to rate their overall hospital experience as excellent. This remained true for patients at large medical centers and smaller community hospitals.

Becker’s compared rankings of facilities with five-stars in cleanliness, quietness, nurse communication and physician communication to find which hospitals made all four lists. Nationally, only 63 hospitals made the list and most were small rural or community hospitals.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
