Dubuque, Iowa-based UnityPoint Health-Finley is reducing cardiac procedure hours due to lack of demand and hiring struggles, ABC affiliate KCRG reported Sept. 10.
Starting Sept. 14, the hospital will provide cardiac procedures between 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Patients who need a procedure outside those hours will be transferred to another facility, and emergency cardiac care will continue to be available 24/7 in the hospital’s ED.
“Finley remains committed to providing safe, timely and appropriate care for patients experiencing cardiac emergencies,” a hospital statement shared with the news outlet said. “Patients should continue to call 911 or seek immediate emergency care for symptoms of a heart attack or other cardiac emergency.”
