U.S. News and World Report rated 517 hospitals high performing for heart attack care.

U.S. News evaluated about 4,500 hospitals on how well they treated heart attack patients by analyzing patient survival rates, recovery at home, number of patients treated and more. Hospitals then received one of three ratings: high performing, as expected or evaluated. U.S. News does not assign numerical rankings for heart attack or distinguish among hospitals within the high performing group. However, hospitals that earned high performing typically had better patient outcomes compared to others.

Among evaluated hospitals, 517 were rated high performing, 1,570 rated as expected and 524 as evaluated.
