Georgia system to break ground on $34M heart center

Athens, Ga.-based St. Mary’s Health Care System’s new $34.6 million heart center will break ground Aug. 21, WUGA reported.

The St. Mary’s Center for Heart, Vascular and Neurosciences is a 15,000-square-foot facility that will focus on treatment of stroke, heart attack, blood vessel disease and cancer. It will feature 4D CT imaging, expanded rapid-response stroke services and an electrophysiology lab.

The center is expected to open in October 2027. St. Mary’s is part of Trinity Health.
