Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center’s expanded heart and vascular unit opened to patients June 18.

The opening completes a three-year planned expansion of the inpatient cardiology service line, according to a June 19 system news release. The expansion added 16 net new beds, bringing the total cardiac care beds to 82.

Over the summer, the hospital will continue modernizing its medical intensive care unit, surgical intensive care unit, and hematology and oncology inpatient spaces.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
