Iterative Health, a Massachusetts-based company with an international presence, has acquired the clinical research operations of Waco (Texas) Cardiology Associates along with cardiology research sites in Port Arthur and Beaumont, Texas — all three previously operated by NextStage Clinical Research, The Waco Tribune reported June 5.

The deal gives Iterative Health an established base of actively enrolled trial participants. Donald Cross, MD,, principal investigator at Waco Cardiology, said the practice currently has 200 to 250 people actively enrolled across trials covering heart failure, cardiovascular disease and weight-loss drugs, out of 350 total enrollments.

An Iterative Health spokesperson framed the Texas markets as a direct response to an access gap, noting that cardiovascular disease affects nearly half of all U.S. adults but trial access remains uneven across communities. Waco Cardiology Associates, founded in 1971, now operates eight offices in the region.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
