Medicor Cardiology, a partner practice of West Orange, N.J.-based RWJBarnabas Health, has made a $1 million commitment to Somerset Health Care Foundation, the fundraising arm of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset in New Jersey.

The gift will support cardiology services at the hospital. Over the past 40 years, Medicor Cardiology has donated nearly $2 million to support the hospital’s growth and expansion, according to a Dec. 18 news release.

The RWJBarnabas Health hospital completed a 5-year cardiology services expansion project in 2023. In recognition of the group’s support, the hospital has named its main lobby waiting areas in honor of Medicor Cardiology.

The group’s past contributions helped fund the hospital’s emergency department, neuroscience pavilion and renovations to several specialty units, according to the release.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
