New York City-based Northwell Health’s Long Island Jewish Medical Center has opened a $6 million cardiac combination laboratory.
The new lab integrates cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology capabilities, including services such as advanced cardiac imaging, angioplasty and stenting, Afib ablation, pacemaker and defibrillator implantation and same-day ambulatory cardiac interventions, according to an Oct. 20 system news release.
The lab will help address the 20% to 30% increase in patient volume the hospital has seen in the last year. It operates alongside three cardiac cath labs and two electrophysiology labs at the hospital.
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
