Lee Health’s heart institute taps VP, chief physician executive

Fort Myers, Fla.-based Lee Health tapped Malissa Wood, MD, as the system’s vice president and chief physician executive of Lee Health Heart Institute, Lehigh Acres Citizen reported July 10.

In the new role, effective July 10, Dr. Wood will co-lead the cardiology service line across acute care and ambulatory settings.

Dr. Wood recently served as a staff physician in the cardiac ultrasound laboratory at Boston-based Mass General Hospital and was co-director of the Carrigan Women’s Heart Health Program.
