5 heart centers upgrading, opening or expanding

Here are five recent heart center openings, expansions or upgrades that Becker’s has reported since Dec. 13:

  1. Chesapeake (Va.) Regional Medical Center was approved to launch an open-heart surgery program.
  2. Wright-based HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital held the grand opening of its expanded cardiac rehabilitation center.
  3. Lewisville, Pa.-based Heart and Vascular Center of Evangelical completed an expansion project that added exam and procedure rooms, ADA-compliant restrooms and office space.
  4. Palos Heights, Ill.-based Northwestern Medicine Palos Hospital opened the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute Outpatient Cardiology Clinic in Chicago.
  5. St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, Pa., received a $1 million gift to upgrade its equipment and software at the cardiac catheterization labs in its heart and vascular center.
