Lakewood Health System, Minneapolis Heart Institute partner on cardiology

Staples, Minn.-based Lakewood Health System has partnered with the Minneapolis Heart Institute at Abbott Northwestern for cardiology services.

The partnership, which started Aug. 5, includes cardiologists from the Minneapolis Heart Institute providing care at the health system weekly. Minneapolis Heart Institute has more than 55 cardiologists, eight vascular surgeons and nine cardiothoracic surgeons.

“This collaboration will not only enhance patient care but will do so in a way that fits the friendly, interpersonal style our community has come to know from Lakewood,” said Christine Albrecht, MD, Lakewood Health System’s CMO. “Having the cardiologists on site and having their team of advanced specialists available for consultations and specialized procedures will really benefit our patients.”
