VUMC taps pediatric cardiology leader

Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanderbilt University Medical Center has tapped Larry Markham, MD, to serve as director of its division of pediatric cardiology and co-director of the Pediatric Heart Institute at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital beginning April 1. 

Dr. Markham will be the third director of the pediatric cardiology division since its founding in 1971. He succeeds Scott Baldwin, MD, who led the division for more than two decades, according to a Jan. 2 news release from VUMC.

Dr. Markham currently serves as chief of the division of pediatric cardiology and co-director of the pediatric cardiovascular service line at Indianapolis-based Indiana University Health’s Riley Hospital for Children, as well as medical director of IU Health’s adult congenital heart program.
